The Houthis of Yemen and the Saudi armed forces have resumed in recent hours an intense exchange of bombings that has affected both the vicinity of the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, and the Saudi regions of Asir —where one person has been injured— and Najran.

In Sana'a, the offensive has developed through a series of consecutive airstrikes that, for now, have not left any casualties, according to the first assessment released by the Houthi official agency, Saba. The most concerning impact occurred near the Al Sabin Maternal-Child Hospital, as denounced in a statement by the Health Ministry controlled by the Houthis. The bombing took place at noon, during peak assistance hours, and the health center has suffered "severe damage."

"Attacking hospitals and health facilities constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and deprives Yemenis of their fundamental right to safe medical care," it has denounced.

According to local sources cited by the Yemeni portal South24, some of the projectiles have reached the Presidential Palace of Sana'a, the main seat of Houthi power in the capital, under their control for more than a decade, since the outbreak of the civil war that continues and triggered the spiral of violence that has ravaged the country.

The Yemeni government based in Aden, recognized as legitimate by the international community, has later confirmed the "execution of an attack against legitimate vital military targets in the capital" with the support of its Saudi ally, without providing additional information for the moment.

The military spokesman for the Houthis, Yahya Sari, has indicated in an official statement that Saudi Arabia has carried out 60 air and missile attacks in the last 24 hours. In this campaign, F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets have attacked the provinces of Sana'a, Saada, Taiz, Hajja, and Marib.

For its part, the Yemeni government backed by the international community has reported 257 operations against Houthi military positions, according to what the Al Jazeera network has reported. It has also announced the capture of the Sama fortress, in the southeast of Taiz, after "fierce fighting."

In Saudi territory, the Civil Defense service of the kingdom has denounced through social media an attack against a mosque in Asir and another against a school in Najran, the latter without causing any casualties.

Meanwhile, forces loyal to the Government of Aden have indicated that in recent hours they managed to repel a Houthi offensive in the area of Jabal Han, near the city of Taiz, which remains besieged.

The Houthis launched an offensive on September 3 in areas of the provinces of Taiz and Hodeida and, since then, have achieved significant territorial advances, including the capture of the city of Mocha and control of areas near the Bab el Mandeb strait, which represents a severe setback for the internationally recognized authorities.
