The Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has instructed the Armed Forces this Tuesday to "prepare for any scenario" in the Gaza Strip in light of the possibility of new attacks from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), coinciding with the eve of the third anniversary of the attacks on October 7, 2023, which triggered the large-scale Israeli offensive on the Palestinian enclave.

In this way, he has ordered the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to "raise their state of readiness" against "any possible scenario in Gaza," referring to "intelligence information about Hamas's intention to launch attacks" against the Israeli troops located on the so-called 'yellow line,' which extends along more than half of the territory of the Strip.

Katz has emphasized "the need to prepare for the worst possible scenarios and to respond with great force to any intelligence data or warning to prevent any threat," a directive that "adds to the intense operations already underway," according to a statement released by his office.

"In the event that our forces suffer any harm, Hamas and the population of Gaza will pay a high price, one that is disproportionate," Katz has warned, in a context of continuous Israeli attacks on the Strip despite the ceasefire reached nearly a year ago, which has since caused 1,460 deaths in the enclave, according to the count by Gazan authorities.

At the same time, the Israeli Army reported this Tuesday the destruction of "a 1.5-kilometer-long underground route" in the northern Gaza Strip, in an area located "east of the 'yellow line,'" towards which the Israeli forces withdrew after the October 2025 agreement to implement the United States proposal regarding the future of Palestinian territory.

In this context, the Army has specified that the demolition of this infrastructure is part of its efforts to "dismantle the terrorist infrastructure" in this part of Gaza, and has released a nine-second video showing the controlled explosion of the tunnel.
