The Justice of the United Kingdom has imposed this Monday a life sentence on Abdulá Albadri, an asylum seeker of Kuwaiti origin, for his involvement in the attempted attack against the Embassy of Israel in London. The events date back to April 2025, when the accused tried to climb over the security fence of the diplomatic compound carrying two knives.

The sentence establishes that he must serve a minimum of 20 years in prison before being eligible for parole. The court considers it proven that the convicted, 34 years old, attempted to access armed the interior of the Embassy, located in the Kensington neighborhood, in the British capital, on April 28 of last year, as detailed in a statement from the Metropolitan Police.

"His attack was quickly thwarted by armed officers from the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command of the Metropolitan Police (Met), who intervened immediately and prevented Albadri from climbing over the fences," the text states, which indicates that he has been found guilty of "preparing terrorist acts."

The conviction falls under a violation of the Terrorism Act of 2006. After the ruling was announced, Commander Helen Flanagan, head of the Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) unit in London, emphasized that the attempt to "perpetrate a terrorist attack was thwarted that day thanks to the brave and swift action of the officers."

"The significant prison sentence that has been imposed reflects the danger he posed that day and the lack of remorse he has shown since his arrest. I want to highlight the incredible bravery and professionalism of the officers; thanks to them, and notably, no one was seriously injured, despite facing a man armed with knives determined to commit a terrorist attack," she asserted.

The commander also pointed out that the Embassy has been subjected "to various security alerts in recent times," although she has valued the coordination between the CTP, the diplomatic mission, and the Metropolitan Police to "continuously review and reinforce security and protection plans, thus ensuring the greatest possible safety for both the facilities and the community in general."
