The governments of Ecuador and China have signed this Tuesday in Beijing seven cooperation agreements in areas such as risk management, digital transformation, and trade, during a meeting between Presidents Daniel Noboa and Xi Jinping.
In a statement, the Ecuadorian Presidency has emphasized that these agreements, among which stands out the digitalization applied to agriculture, the health system, and manufacturing, "strengthen cooperation and joint work" between both countries.
Likewise, the two executives have agreed on "greater coordination and utilization of the Free Trade Agreement," in addition to jointly promoting the "green industry," improving energy efficiency, and opening "opportunities for exchange and mutual learning."
The commitments made by Noboa and Xi, who received his Ecuadorian counterpart at the Great Hall of the People, also include "non-reimbursable funds for medical equipment, productive reactivation, and police vehicles," according to the note released by the Presidency of Ecuador.
This visit by Noboa to the Asian giant, the second he has made as head of state, also includes a meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang and with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Zhao Leji.
After his stop in China, the Ecuadorian president and his delegation, which includes Foreign Minister Roberto Kury, will continue their tour of the region with trips to Singapore and Vietnam.
