The coalition forces for Yemen led by Saudi Arabia reported early this Friday the neutralization of a missile fired against the capital, Riyadh, as well as the interception of two drones in the south of the country, actions attributed in all cases to the Houthi insurgency in Yemen.
The military spokesperson of the coalition, Turki al Maliki, communicated this through his profiles on social media, detailing that in both situations the operations concluded with the destruction of the launched artifacts.
Although the coalition has barely offered more details about these attacks, the Saudi Civil Defense issued several alerts during the night and early morning in different areas of the country, not only in the capital but also in the southwestern cities of Najran, Abha, and Khamis Mushait, located closer to the areas controlled by the Houthis. In those warnings, citizens were urged to remain indoors and to stay away from windows.
