The High Representative of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU, Kaja Kallas, warned this Saturday that the decision of the United States to lift sanctions on Russian diesel provides Moscow with "more income to wage war."
In a message disseminated on social media, Kallas recalled that "Russian attacks have killed more than 80 Ukrainian civilians in two days. Moreover, it has exacerbated its hybrid attacks against Europe, against EU members and NATO allies."
For Kallas, "it is not the time to ease pressure on Russia and Europe is not going to do it," and she emphasized that the EU foreign ministers are expected to approve next Monday "the largest package of sanctions against Russia's war machine since the beginning of the war."
Meanwhile, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Friday a "landmark" agreement with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for Russia to supply "immediately" more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the U.S. and global market.
