The Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, pointed out this Monday that "there have certainly been advances" in the indirect conversations with Iran, carried out through mediators and aimed at achieving the end of the armed conflict.

"We have certainly made some advances. Let's see if we can make more. (Donal) Trump and I have pretty good feelings about the possibility of reaching a negotiated agreement," Vance said before the journalists, underscoring the optimism of the current Government about the course of the negotiations.

For his part, Trump himself released a message on social media this Monday in which he emphasizes that "Iran wants an agreement as soon as possible". "It can happen!" he stressed. In that same post, Trump linked the possible pact with Iran to what he describes as a "record" drop in the price of crude of "almost 10 dollars a barrel", attributing it to the perception that there will be no war with Iran.

In previous interventions, Trump had indicated that "Iran has asked us to stop killing its leaders". "We are going to do it," he asserted, just after proclaiming that "we have won the war with Iran". In addition, he maintained that "it is not even a war because we have been without combat for months", insisting that the current phase is characterized by the absence of direct clashes.
