The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, received this Monday in Madrid the president of Chile, José Antonio Kast, who traveled to the Spanish capital on the occasion of the XXX Ibero-American Summit, together with the first lady, Pía Adriasola, whom he described as "friends and allies for years".
Through his profile on the social network X, Abascal pointed out that it had been "an honor and a joy" to host them, a message that he accompanied with several photographs in which he appears alongside his wife, as well as Kast and Adriasola.
In that same publication, the Vox leader recalled that "This has been our first meeting since his arrival to the presidency: I could not accompany them to the inauguration because of the electoral campaign in Castilla y León, nor attend the Foro Madrid in Santiago de Chile, because of the invasion of Ceuta. At last I have been able to congratulate him personally".
At the same time, the president of the Comunidad de Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, granted this Monday the Chilean head of state the International Medal of the Comunidad de Madrid, highlighting his defense of security in the Latin American country.
During the act held at the Real Casa de Correos, Ayuso emphasized that "Without security there is no freedom and without freedom there is no lasting prosperity. In just a few months in office, President Kast has placed these priorities at the center of his government action with the firm determination to return to Chileans tranquility, confidence, control of their own destiny, also order and an extraordinary commitment to children", before conferring this institutional distinction on him.
