The number 'two' of the PP to Congress for Madrid, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, has described the president of the Government and candidate for reelection, Pedro Sánchez, as "a civil war supporter" and "immoral" for what she considers a "spurious" use of the Guernica painting, going so far as to reproach that "Picasso himself would be turning in his grave."

"Even Picasso himself would be turning in his grave upon seeing the spurious use of his work in favor of a civil war supporter and an immoral person," Álvarez de Toledo stated during her speech at an event held this Saturday in Toledo.

The popular leader reacted this way to the video released by Sánchez from the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, recorded in front of the emblematic "Guernica" and invoking the spirit of "No to war," published on his "X" profile.

"Today Pedro Sánchez this very morning has published a video appropriating the 'Guernica'. He dirties everything he touches," lamented Álvarez de Toledo, criticizing the staging of the head of the Executive.

Furthermore, she emphasized that the socialist leader overlooked "one detail: to thank Leopoldo Calvo Sotelo, from the UCD, who is the one who brought the 'Guernica' to Spain in September 1981."
