The autonomous presidents of the PP closed ranks this Monday around the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, in the face of the criticisms launched from the central Government, outright rejecting the accusations from the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, who has stated that the Ceuta leader "has assumed being a mere pawn of Feijóo" and that "he has forgotten his institutional role".
Upon his arrival at the informational breakfast of "Nueva Economía Forum" led by Vivas, the 'popular' barons defended his management of the migration crisis and blamed Pedro Sánchez's Executive for "neglect", "incompetence", lack of planning, and reacting "late" to the situation that the autonomous city is experiencing after the massive entry of migrants recorded last July.
In this context, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, denied that Vivas acts as a "pawn of Feijóo" and claimed his trajectory as a "reference for coexistence in Ceuta" and as a "prudent, sensible" and "institutionally loyal" person.
Vivas, "the only one who is really managing" the crisis
In the same vein, the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, stated that Vivas deserves "all the support and recognition" because he is "the only one who is really managing" the crisis, and accused the Government of preferring to "attack" the Ceuta president in light of their "inability". "The Government's management is an absolute disaster," Rueda has stated.
For his part, the president of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, conveyed "all the admiration and respect" to the president of Ceuta, whom he defined as an example of "courage, common sense, integrity, and leadership" in a scenario of maximum tension.
Mañueco also accused the central Executive of maintaining an attitude that oscillates "between neglect, incompetence, and a totally unacceptable posture of concealment" and emphasized that "Ceuta is not alone".
In the same vein, the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, came to Vivas's defense and stated that the Government's criticisms are "exclusively to cover up the inability, to cover up the lack of information" and the "opacity".
"We come to support President Vivas, to support him in his impeccable work, his political stature, his responsibility, and the commitment with which he is facing the situation," affirmed López Miras, who accused the Executive of not having intervened while the Ceuta president "is supplementing the absence of the Government of Spain."
