The former mayor of Barcelona and Frente Amplio candidate for the Presidency in the general elections on November 29 has held a meeting this afternoon in Congress with representatives of the different parties integrated into this alliance, with the aim of facing the final hours before the deadline for registering electoral coalitions expires this Friday.
According to sources from the space to Europa Press, the number one of Frente Amplio for Madrid, Emilio Delgado, has joined the meeting for a time, in addition to leaders from Más Madrid, Comuns, IU, and Movimiento Sumar.
On the table is the key question of whether an understanding will finally be reached with Podemos in several territories, after Madrid has become the main point of friction for closing a possible pact. From the purple formation, they have defended the option of articulating asymmetric agreements that exclude the capital and Catalonia, where they maintain a collaboration agreement with ERC.
Currently, Podemos shares coalitions with Frente Amplio parties in the Canary Islands and Valencia Community and, for now, is excluded from the already sealed confluence agreements in Aragón, Balearic Islands, and Andalusia, where forces integrated into the new project led by Colau on a state level do participate.
