The third deputy mayor of Lleida, Cristina Morón, will assume the leadership of the PSC candidacy for Lleida in the general elections on November 29, after the resignation of the spokesperson for the Federal Executive of the PSOE, Montse Mínguez.

The announcement was made by the minister and candidate for Barcelona, Jordi Hereu, and the president of the Generalitat and first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, during the Extraordinary National Council held this Friday, in which the final ratification of the socialist lists for the general elections is expected.

Initially, the PSC of the Comarques de Lleida, Pirineu i Aran had proposed that Mínguez repeat as number one for Lleida, accompanied by Amador Marqués, Lorena González, and Xavier Oriol Granados. However, Mínguez's resignation, amid controversy over her partner's real estate dealings, has forced the party's proposal to be reconfigured.
