The Jupol union has reported this Friday that different delegations of the Government have generated a "unprecedented situation" by not sending the necessary service orders to the units of the National Police to organize the devices in light of the increase in protests over housing and the pre-campaign events for the elections on November 29.
According to the union organization in a statement, this absence of instructions prevents adequate planning of police operations in a context of multiple concentrations and political events linked to the electoral appointment.
"Not informing the Police of the communicated demonstrations and of the events that affect public order is an extreme irresponsibility. It has never happened, not even with a caretaker Government," Jupol pointed out in a statement.
The union emphasizes that the "seriousness" of what is happening, "especially in Madrid," is intensified by the coincidence of several factors: the call for elections on November 29, the proximity of the start of the electoral campaign, the general strike set for November 11, and "a scenario of increasing social conflict due to the housing situation."
Jupol speaks of extreme irresponsibility
From the representative organization of the National Police, it is considered of "extreme seriousness" that this lack of service orders may obey a strategy linked to political interests. "It seems they want the streets to burn," Jupol has pointed out, warning of the possible consequences for citizen security.
The union warns that "depriving police officials of the information and instructions necessary to plan their devices compromises the anticipation, coordination, and response capacity of the units responsible for ensuring citizen security and public order," which, in their opinion, unnecessarily increases the risk at a time of high social tension.
