The National Intelligence Center (CNI) has pointed out that the information sent before the massive entry into Ceuta on July 30 "did not anticipate the magnitude and nature of what ended up happening," as it was an "unusual phenomenon" compared to previous migration crises.

Sources from the CNI —who recall that they have maintained the "duty of secrecy" since "the very first moment"—, disseminated by Moncloa, state that the declassification of documents made public this Wednesday "evidences" that the Center "issued information about a campaign on social networks that called for the assault on the fence of Ceuta."

Nevertheless, they insist that this communication "did not anticipate the magnitude and nature of what ended up happening on the 30th, being an unusual phenomenon that does not correspond to the known migration crises to date."

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has emphasized that the CNI "did not issue any major alert to its chain of command of the Armed Forces, the National Police, or the Ministry of Defense," specifying that it "limited itself" to conveying the information "by message and brief phone call to the Cabinet of the Government Delegation of Ceuta and to the UCE-3 of the Civil Guard."

Likewise, he has defended that the response of the CNI was "understandable" with the data available at that time, since "no one could anticipate the migration crisis that occurred on the 30th and 31st" of July. "No competent agency did. Neither in Spain, nor in the EU," he emphasized this Wednesday in a message on 'X'.
