The Diputación de Guadalajara will launch a new call for the Municipal Investment Fund (FIM), aimed at all municipalities in the province with up to 20,000 inhabitants, as well as to localities and EATIM. Through this program, the councils will be able to continue promoting projects for the construction, rehabilitation, and modernization of infrastructures that are municipally owned.
The announcement was made this Friday by the president of the Provincial Institution, José Luis Vega, during the speech he gave at the traditional reception of mayors and councilors of the province, which on this occasion took place in the gardens of the Diputación.
Vega also announced the launch of a new specific service within the Regional Centers, aimed at addressing emergency situations without requiring the diversion of resources from the ordinary tasks carried out by these centers in their daily activities.
"During the fire, and I apologize, there were municipalities that were without water supply for several days because the Regional Centers were exclusively dedicated to supplying and assisting in fire extinguishing, and that is going to end," he explained, emphasizing that it is intended that "if, for example, a DANA breaks a road, the Provincial Diputación has the capacity to execute and manage urgently and quickly address the needs when things go wrong."
The provincial president also detailed another measure already underway: a framework agreement for the electrical supply of all municipalities in the province of Guadalajara. As he indicated, the Diputación formalized this contract this Friday and "in about 15 or 20 days, the municipalities will be able to start joining to achieve savings of between 30 and 40% on the electricity bill, a significant saving for the municipal coffers of each and every town," he pointed out to the local representatives present.
In this line, he announced that "the goal is to work together and we will gradually be rolling out different types of framework agreements, because it is time for all municipalities to work together in contracting to have common benefits."
Guarinos calls for institutional collaboration
For her part, the mayor of Guadalajara, Ana Guarinos, has defended the need to strengthen cooperation between administrations and institutional loyalty to face the challenges ahead for the province. She has acknowledged the daily effort of municipal officials and has wished a happy Fair and Festival to all the residents of the territory. "Beyond our daily responsibilities, we are part of a great family that has the privilege of calling itself Guadalajara," she has pointed out.
