The 1,250 sheep and 160 goats that this Sunday will travel through several streets of Madrid due to the Fiesta de la Trashumancia will modify their usual itinerary due to the campsite set up at Puerta del Sol, according to the spokesperson for the City Council, Inma Sanz, in the press conference following the Government Board meeting.
"Unfortunately, it cannot make the route that has traditionally been taken due to that illegal campsite that is set up at Puerta del Sol," condemned the also deputy mayor and delegate for Security and Emergencies.
In this edition, the route will start from Casa de Campo and continue through Casa de Campo at Puente del Rey, Cuesta de la Vega, Duque de Nájera street, Mayor street, Plaza de la Villa, Toledo street, Plaza de la Cebada, Carrera de San Francisco, and Bailén. Next, the flock will return via Mayor street, Cuesta de la Vega, and Puente del Rey until re-entering Casa de Campo, heading towards the pens.
"It is regrettable that the route has to be modified due to an illegal campsite that the Government Delegation refuses to remove in our city," reiterated the municipal spokesperson, insisting on her criticism of the permanence of this campsite in Sol.
