The Council of Mallorca will start this Wednesday the period to submit applications for the grants aimed at supporting agricultural and maritime activity in the Serra de Tramuntana.
The line of aid has a global budget of 1.67 million euros and is aimed at managers, companies, and entities that have the Serra de Tramuntana World Heritage Distinction, in addition to agricultural, farming, livestock, and forestry cooperatives, fishing brotherhoods, regulatory councils of Protected Designations of Origin, and associations of agroecological producers.
According to the island institution in a note, these grants allow covering expenses directly related to the exercise of the activity, including actions for the prevention and control of animal diseases and plant pests, fertilizers, animal feed products, seeds, and fuel.
A part of the credit planned in the call has an extraordinary nature and is reserved to compensate for the increase in production costs caused by the Middle East conflict.
Likewise, aid is included for development and innovation projects, promotional and training actions, as well as investments aimed at purchasing machinery or restoring ethnological elements.
Applications will be processed in strict order of entry in the registry of the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium and will be granted until the economic allocation is exhausted, provided they meet the conditions set in the call.
The deadline to submit the documentation will begin on October 7, the day after the publication of the call in the Official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands (BOIB), and will remain open for 15 working days.
