Junts opts for Marta Madrenas, Josep Maria Cruset, and Isidre Gavín to lead the party's candidacies for Congress in Girona, Tarragona, and Lleida in the general elections on November 29, respectively, while placing Miriam Nogueras at the head of the list for Barcelona.
This has been conveyed by various sources consulted by Europa Press with two weeks left until the deadline for submitting lists for Congress and the Senate and just over a month until the official start of the electoral campaign.
According to the regulations approved on Tuesday by the Consell Nacional, the formation contemplates holding primaries in the 4 constituencies, so that if only one person presents themselves, they will be automatically proclaimed as the head of the list.
Regarding the head of the list for Barcelona, Junts proposes that the entire membership participate in the vote, making it clear that "they will also be considered the head of the list for Catalunya."
In the districts of Girona, Tarragona, and Lleida, the respective heads of the list will be chosen, in differentiated processes, by the members of each territory.
The regulations also establish that it is not essential to be affiliated with Junts to register a pre-candidacy, beyond the political, ethical, and organizational requirements set by the party's internal regulations.
Composition of the candidacies
Each regional or district grouping, the vegueries, sectoral areas, ideological spaces, and the JNC will have the possibility to propose up to 4 names, of men and women in balanced proportion, whether they are members or independents, to be integrated into the lists for Congress and the Senate of their constituency.
The heads of the list and the executive will also be empowered to submit proposals of names to the party's permanent committee, while the Secretary of Organization, Judith Toronjo, will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the ordinary development of the process; executing the agreement for the call and specifying the electoral calendar; articulating the procedure for presenting candidacies and ensuring compliance with the required requirements.
Likewise, it must ensure equal treatment and access to the common resources that the training makes available to the candidacies, in addition to organizing the voting and the counting, without prejudice to the supervisory and guarantee functions assigned to the Electoral Syndicate.
Approval and ratification
The party president, Carles Puigdemont, the general secretary, Jordi Turull, and Toronjo herself will be the ones, in coordination with the heads of lists and the presidents of veguerías, to prepare a proposal for candidacies to the Congress and the Senate that will be submitted to the executive for approval and subsequent submission to the National Council for its final ratification.
In the event that it is proposed to run in an electoral coalition with other formations, the agreement must first be approved by the National Council and, in a later phase, by the entire membership.
