The spokesperson of the PP in the Parlament, Lorena Roldán, has expressed her "respect for judicial resolutions" after the Supreme Court (TS) has annulled the arrest warrant against the former president of the Generalitat and leader of Junts, Carles Puigdemont. The decision comes after it was revealed that the Constitutional Court has endorsed the amnesty for the crime of embezzlement linked to the 'procés'.

In a press conference this Tuesday in the Parlament, Roldán emphasized that "We have nothing to say in this regard. I simply respect, obviously, the judicial resolutions, which Sánchez and his partners do not. We, of course, do."

The popular leader has stressed that the resolution of the magistrate Pablo Llarena directly derives from the pronouncement of the Constitutional Court (TC) that supports the amnesty, and has pointed out that with this step "the circle is closed."

In this context, she has attacked the central Government by stating that "Sánchez's legislature began, precisely, with a blackmail: the purchase of seven votes in exchange for the amnesty. And now that same legislature ends with the last payment of that bill."

Criticism of housing policies

Roldán has dedicated a good part of her appearance to advocating for the proposals of the PP regarding housing, defending that "The problem is solved by building more, increasing the supply and preventing the socialists and their partners from continuing to turn housing into a scarce good."

In her opinion, the measures promoted by the Govern in Catalunya and by the central Executive have not yielded results and have caused a reduction in the supply of rental apartments.

As she has denounced, "Sánchez and Illa promised to facilitate access to housing, but with their policies they have achieved exactly the opposite," which, in her opinion, has "scared away" owners and harmed those seeking a home for rent.

She has also reproached that "The blame is on the owners, the blame is on the rich, the blame is on the funds, the blame is on the far-right. There is always someone to point at before taking responsibility for policies that are not solving the problem."

As an alternative, he explained that the PP's proposal involves building more housing, reducing bureaucratic obstacles, and offering legal security to both tenants and owners. However, he maintained that these conditions do not exist "because of Illa's policies," and he concluded: "There are no more apartments because the socialists do not want there to be more apartments. It's that simple."
