The president of Òmnium Cultural, Xavier Antich, has appealed to the need to reinforce consensus and social cohesion in Catalonia, which he considers threatened, to confront those who "seek to turn Catalan identity into a national minority."
Antich launched this message in statements to the media this Tuesday, before participating in the round table 'Reprendre l'esperit. On the tenth anniversary of the death of Muriel Casals' within the framework of the Catalan Summer University (UCE), which is held in Prada de Conflent (France).
Asked about the growth of Aliança Catalana, he defended "not considering in these great consensuses the xenophobic positions that seek to exclude part of the Catalans from Catalan identity" and insisted on the need for the Diada to be inclusive and, in his words, to move forward without leaving anyone behind.
