Plus Ultra will resume its flights to Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, Caracas (Venezuela), from Madrid and Tenerife starting on September 8 and until October 24. At the same time, the airline will maintain the route between Madrid and the city of Valencia, which will continue operating on Mondays.
In detail, the connection between Madrid and the Venezuelan capital will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. For its part, the Caracas-Tenerife North route will depart on Saturdays from the Venezuelan city and on Sundays from the Canary Island.
"We continue to work in coordination with the Venezuelan authorities to recover operational normality on our routes to the country. We will communicate any news through the usual channels," it has indicated in a statement.
Aside from Plus Ultra, Air Europa and Iberia have also resumed flights this week to Caracas, coinciding with the reactivation of operations last Tuesday at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía.
The president of the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Infrastructure Habitability, Francisco Garcés, explained that provisional terminals with more than 10,000 square meters have been put into service for passenger care, which represents about 25% of the usual operational capacity of the terminal.
Regarding other airlines, American Airlines has recently restored its direct flights between Miami and Caracas. In turn, Copa Airlines has resumed its operations with the Venezuelan capital, reaching a total of 29 weekly frequencies between Panama and the Latin American country.
