Volotea has canceled a total of 10 flights due to the three-day pilots' strike called in France. The company began this Friday with the cancellation of four operations and plans to cancel another six additional connections during the day on Saturday, according to what the airline has indicated to Europa Press.
In the case of these last cancellations, four correspond to links with Biarritz and Toulouse operated from its base in Lille, while the other two affect flights with destination or origin in Calvi (Corsica) from its operational center in Strasbourg.
"The teams are proactively contacting the affected passengers so they can reorganize their travel plans and modify their flights without additional costs," it has explained.
For now, the company does not contemplate more changes in its schedule for tomorrow. Volotea continues to closely monitor the development of the strike and has committed to notifying travelers who may be impacted by new variations as early as possible.
The French National Union of Line Pilots (SNPL), which has driven the strikes along with the Union of Civil Aviation Navigators (UNAC) and the Line Pilots Union (SPL), criticizes the lack of tangible progress on the social claims of the pilots of the Spanish airline and argues that their working and pay conditions are among the "worst" in the sector.
According to SNPL, since 2021 none of the mandatory annual negotiations on these matters have resulted in real improvements, despite the proposals put forward by the unions and their attempts to maintain dialogue with management.
The union states that the freezing of pilots' salaries has been ongoing since 2012, while the top management of Volotea granted itself average pay increases of 23% in 2025.
