The president of Acciona, José Manuel Entrecanales, is called to appear this Friday, September 4, in the courts of Pamplona after not attending, on two occasions, the summons made to him by the investigation commission of the Parliament of Navarra regarding public awards. According to judicial sources, Entrecanales is summoned to testify at 10 a.m. in the Instruction Section of the Court of First Instance of Pamplona for an alleged crime of disobedience. The Board of the Parliament of Navarra agreed last March to inform the Public Prosecutor's Office of the non-attendance of the president of Acciona to the investigation commission. He had been summoned on two occasions to appear, on January 20 and February 9, and neither of the two attended the headquarters of the Navarrese Legislature. In both summonses, Acciona sent two representatives of the company, Joaquín Mollinedo, director of Institutional Relations, Communication, and Brand, and also executive José Julio Figueroa, who recorded their attendance at the Parliament in the institution's registry. In this process, moreover, Acciona sent a letter to the Chamber stating that the requirement for the appearance directed at its president could "not comply with the regulatory legal framework of investigation commissions," understanding that it could affect fundamental rights and not have a direct relationship with the material object of the investigation. Following the communication from the Board of the Parliament, the Prosecutor's Office requested the investigating court to open proceedings for the non-appearance of Entrecanales for a possible crime of disobedience. For the Prosecutor's Office, the non-attendance of the president of Acciona "lacks justification" since "he had been expressly warned by the Parliament itself" that neither the letter nor the presence of two executives of the company in the Chamber could replace his personal appearance.
