The national spokesperson of the BNG, Ana Pontón, considers that the central Executive "is not up to the task" of the serious situation that Ceuta is going through due to the migration crisis and blames PP and Vox for trying to "encourage" xenophobia.
In a press conference held this Monday, Pontón emphasized that the current management "cannot count on the support" of her party and lamented that there are thousands of people in a context in which, in her opinion, "human rights" are being violated and "minimum issues of humanity" are not respected. "It is something that must be denounced and said with all clarity," she pointed out.
The nationalist leader criticized that "the right and the far-right" intend to "make the crisis chronic" to "do partisanship" and "feed the criticisms of hate and xenophobia."
In this line, she lashed out at the "opportunism of the PP," which she accuses of proclaiming that "to show solidarity with Ceuta" while "does not want to be a solution" to the conflict. "Any person, if they have a heart and are human, cannot look the other way when there are boys and girls in the situation they are in at this moment. And when a government has no heart, we cannot expect anything," she emphasized.
Regarding the role of Morocco in what happened, Pontón indicated that it is "impossible" for her to think that a displacement of thousands of people like the one experienced in Ceuta "could happen without the collaboration" of the neighboring country.
"It is clear that we also do not know why Pedro Sánchez might want to exonerate Morocco from its responsibility in an action of this type," she added, insisting that it is a matter that the president of the Government himself must clarify in his appearance in Congress.
They will not attend the FEMP concentrations
On the other hand, the leader of the BNG has announced that her party will not attend the concentrations promoted by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) in the municipalities due to the situation in Ceuta.
"They are really undercover concentrations called by the Popular Party to continue encouraging hate and xenophobia, using the FEMP in a partisan way," she denounced.
She also emphasized that this initiative evidences the use that the PP makes of the institution and that "it is willing to cross all red lines in the frantic pre-campaign that it has launched."
