The head of the list of ERC for Barcelona in the general elections, Gabriel Rufián, has apologized this Friday for not having managed to convince the leaderships of the left-wing parties to run in a single candidacy, going so far as to admit: "I have failed."

In an interview on Rac1 reported by Europa Press, he explained that this Thursday he was about to give up and reiterated that his goal is to articulate a unique antifascist candidacy in the name of the militancy of ERC and of the common citizen, and not "for anyone who is in an office of Esquerra Republicana."

Likewise, he pointed out that, in his opinion, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, decided to advance the elections in order to save "his personal ballot."
