The content creator David Triay, popular on social media under the name el Cromas, has made a donation of 32,000 euros to the Son Espases University Hospital with the aim of reinforcing research projects on colorectal cancer.

According to what the Ministry of Health detailed this Wednesday in an informative note, Triay has decided to use the reach of his digital channels, where he gathers more than 11 million followers, to raise awareness among the public about this pathology and gather funds for biomedical research.

The statement emphasizes that the young man has closely experienced the consequences of this disease in family members and close people, and that he himself had to face a colon problem that required a surgical operation.

During his treatment, the influencer met Dr. Álvaro García, a specialist in colorectal surgery at the Son Espases University Hospital, "an experience that allowed him to understand the importance of research to advance in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of this disease."

The solidarity initiative has achieved wide citizen participation and has managed to raise 32,000 euros, which will be entirely dedicated to research projects on colorectal cancer being carried out in the Balearic Islands.

This donation will help to promote "new scientific knowledge" and to progress in the fight against one of the tumors with the highest incidence among the population.

The campaign remains active for all those who wish to collaborate with the initiative and support research in colorectal cancer through the solidarity platform of IdISBa.
