The president of Syria, Ahmed al Shara, has made a call to German companies to get involved in the country's reconstruction projects, emphasizing that "it is time to start working" after several months in which Damascus has focused its efforts on removing obstacles to the national recovery process.

After meeting with a business delegation from Germany, the Syrian leader has pointed out, according to the official agency SANA, that "we have overcome the stage of getting to know each other and building trust, and now is the right time to start working."

Al Shara has encouraged German firms to take advantage of the opportunities that are opening up in Syria, stressing that in the last two years the country has worked to "eliminate the obstacles that hinder reconstruction and to create a favorable environment for the entry of large companies."

The head of state has indicated that Syria is going through a phase of economic expansion and prosperity and has urged to take advantage of this period before the growth rate stabilizes. "The current stage in Syria is an important opportunity for investment, especially for German companies with their experience and capabilities," he has stated.

In this line, he has emphasized that financial support and foreign investments will help boost domestic production and accelerate recovery, which, in his opinion, will turn the country into a "safe haven."
