The Israel Defense Forces reported this Thursday the death of one of its soldiers after the vehicle he was traveling in overturned in southern Lebanon, an incident in which three other military personnel were also injured.
The deceased is Eliav Haim Tzafalmos, 21 years old, who served as a captain in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and was deployed in the neighboring country as part of the 7th Armored Brigade.
"The casualties occurred when an IDF Humvee overturned during an operation in southern Lebanon. The incident is under investigation," the IDF added in a statement confirming that the injured are hospitalized.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his condolences for Tzafalmos's death, originally from Haifa, and wished for the "swift" recovery of the three injured soldiers, whom he referred to in the context of what he described as a "serious accident."
