At least three people have lost their lives and another thirteen have been injured this Friday in a drone offensive attributed to the Ukrainian Army against the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, according to authorities in the area.

"Three people died, including a teenager, and another thirteen civilians were injured today in the republic due to drone attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the detonation of a drone," reported the regional governor, Denis Pushilin, in a statement on his social media.

Pushilin himself also specified that, as a result of these attacks, "two residential buildings, six civil infrastructure facilities, a minibus with passengers, six trucks, and three cars" have suffered damage in the localities of Donetsk, Horlivka, Torez, Yenakiyeve, Debaltseve, Dokuchayevsk, and Khartsyzsk.

In recent months, Russia has proclaimed new military advances in eastern Ukraine, with particular emphasis on Donetsk, a region that, along with Lugansk, both integrated into the Donbas, has already been the scene of clashes since 2014 between pro-Russian separatist militias and Ukrainian government forces.

This new attack comes just hours after a Russian bombing of a shopping center in the city of Krivói Rog, in the Dnipropetrovsk province, caused 15 deaths and 130 injuries.

In this context, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has conveyed information about this and other attacks by the Russian Army to the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, during a phone conversation that he has also shared on his social media.

Zelensky has thus defended to the Portuguese diplomat that "everything possible must be done to end this war," for which the United Nations, he assured, will maintain its efforts in this direction and, in particular, for "the search for solutions."
