Several groups of Israeli settlers have maintained for the thirteenth consecutive day the siege on the homes of the Palestinian locality of Qusra, in the West Bank, where Israeli security forces are also deployed.
The mayor of Qusra, Abdel Azim Wadi, has warned that both the Israeli Army and the settlers present in the area continue to block the entry and exit of families from their homes, with particular severity in the area of Ras al Ain.
For now, one of the houses has been occupied by the security forces and transformed into a military post, while the entire village has been declared a closed military zone, according to information released by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Wadi has denounced that the neighbors are running out of food and medicine due to the imposed restrictions and the prohibition of receiving supplies. Furthermore, on Thursday, soldiers destroyed furniture and other belongings found in the occupied house.
The situation has provoked international criticism, to the point that the United States ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, has condemned the "Israeli terrorists" who have been harassing Palestinian families in the area for days, a particularly sensitive point due to the violence of the settlers and surrounded by illegal settlements and outposts.
The violence exercised by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank has intensified in recent years at the same time that the Army was carrying out bombings on the Gaza Strip. The international community has reiterated that these settlements are illegal, even in light of Israeli law itself, whose authorities are accused of showing indifference to the actions committed by these extremist groups.
