The victim count from the Russian drone attack against a police station located in the Ukrainian province of Yitomir, recorded last Wednesday, has risen to three deceased and 59 injured, while teams continue with rescue and debris removal efforts in the area.

"The number of injured after the Russian attack in Yitomir has increased to 59 people. The number of deceased remains unchanged: three people," reported the General Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the mentioned region.

The agency specified that at the impact site, emergency services are still conducting search and rescue operations. For this, heavy engineering machinery is being used to clear the remains of the building, and unstable parts of the structure are being cut to secure the perimeter.

On Wednesday, the National Police of Ukraine communicated that the police station in the province of Yitomir, in the northwest of the country, had been the target of a drone attack carried out by the Armed Forces of Russia.

Police authorities denounced that it was a "deliberate attack" against the personnel responsible for protecting the population. "Another manifestation of the true essence of Russian aggression: terror directed against the population and those who protect it," stated the Ukrainian Police on their social media.

"This is an irreparable loss for the National Police," lamented the institution, which initially confirmed the death of two officers. Despite what happened, the officers "continue serving, helping people, and maintaining the security of the country," the Police indicated at that time.
