The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has lashed out at the Democratic opposition, which he blames for wanting the country to "lose the war" in Iran rather than allowing his Administration to score a victory in the conflict. His words come as more than six months of clashes have passed and the war and diplomatic scenario remains in a clear 'impasse'.

In a message disseminated on social media, the leader has attacked his political opponents and has tried to rally support around the military intervention initiated by the United States and Israel on February 28. In that text, Trump asserts that "The lunatics of the radical left, the dumbocrats, and the communists would rather see us lose the war in Iran than see President Donald Trump win the war for the United States".

Trump insists that the sectors opposed to his Government aspire to a military defeat in Iran and has emphasized that, "In other words, they prefer that we lose rather than win. These are very sick people", attributing this attitude to what he describes as the "anti-Trump syndrome".
