The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has communicated this Friday an agreement that he has qualified as "transcendental" with the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, by which Russia will send "immediately" more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to both the U.S. market and the international market.
According to what Trump has detailed on his social networks, the pact also includes the supply of "another 500,000 tons during the month of November and 1,000,000 tons immediately after."
Trump has indicated that, depending on the situation of the Russian refineries —in an indirect allusion to the Ukrainian attacks on Moscow's energy infrastructure—, his Administration expects that Russia can deliver "in a short period of time," a total of three million tons of diesel.
The leader has stated that, added to the "total control" that, according to him, the United States exercises over the Strait of Hormuz (actually blocked by Iran, while Washington maintains dominance over the nearby areas), diesel prices "will drop quickly and at record numbers for Americans and for the world."
"My top priority is to reduce prices for Americans, especially for our large farmers, ranchers, and truckers. This is a very big and important announcement," Trump has emphasized, before issuing a final warning to Iran, a close partner of Russia: "You will not have a nuclear weapon," he concluded.
