The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has used his last major public event before tomorrow's midterm legislative elections to call for support at the polls against the Democratic contenders, whom he has described as "extremists and dangerous" and framing these 'midterms' as the "most important in our lives".

"As you know, today is the last day before the midterm elections, the most important 'midterm' in our lives, I think," Trump has pointed out during the inauguration event of the renovated Reflecting Pool of the Lincoln Memorial, in Washington, where he has focused his speech on discrediting the Democratic opposition.

In this line, he has lashed out at the rival party by stating that "the Democratic Party has nominated the most extremist and dangerous candidates in American history. They are the most dangerous candidates ever put forward," before accusing the formation symbolized by the donkey of being "very, very corrupt."

The president has also taken advantage of the opportunity to boast about the country's economic situation, defending that "the whole country is growing rapidly" and that "we are growing like never before. Oil has gone down ten dollars today, the biggest drop in history. There has not been any day in which it has gone down so much," he has indicated, alluding to the price of the barrel of crude oil.

In this context, he has predicted that the cost of oil "will keep going down even more because we are beating Iran". "We are winning easily," he has insisted when referring to the standoff with Tehran.

Trump has likewise boasted of his policies toward Venezuela, referring to them as "the conquest of Venezuela", according to his own words. "We won the war in Venezuela in a single day and we took hundreds of billions of dollars in oil that comes every day from Venezuela," he has maintained. "We also have Greenland now. We want to thank Denmark and Europe for making it possible," he has added.

Lastly, the president has alluded to the remodeling of the Reflecting Pool of the Lincoln Memorial driven by his Administration and has joked about a possible name change. "We are seriously thinking about changing its name to Trump Reflecting Pool. Just kidding. Please, don't report this," he said in a relaxed tone before those attending.
