The Government of the United States has confirmed, following the recommendation of the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, and with the approval of President Donald Trump, that the "jihadist" military psychiatrist of the U.S. Army who opened fire on military personnel at Fort Hood base in Texas in 2009 will be executed by a firing squad. In that attack, thirteen people died and another 32 were injured.

"The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, has recommended --and President Donald J. Trump has approved-- the death penalty by firing squad by the United States Army for the convicted terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan, the jihadist who opened fire on unarmed U.S. soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009," announced Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell on social media.

Hasan, a military psychiatrist who held the rank of major in the U.S. Army --equivalent to that of commander in Spain-- "killed thirteen people and injured another 32 while shouting 'Allahu Akbar' (transliteration into English of the expression 'God is great' in Arabic) during the attack," Parnell recalled.

According to the spokesman, now "the Secretary of the Army (Adam Telle, acting) will set the date and place of the execution," ordered by U.S. military justice. "The day of judgment for Hasan has finally arrived," emphasized the Pentagon representative.

With this decision, the Department of Defense will put an end to a prolonged procedure that began almost 17 years ago, after the Muslim American Hasan --paralyzed from the bullet wounds suffered when he was subdued-- killed thirteen people and injured dozens on November 5, 2009, at what was then the largest military base in the country.
