The president of the Government of Aragón, Jorge Azcón (PP), has assessed the agreement reached this Monday by CCOO and UGT to call for a general strike of 24 hours this autumn, with which they seek to demand decent wages and guarantee access to decent housing. The Aragonese leader has called on the trade unions to clarify "against whom they are protesting," reminding that "it is usual for them to do so against the Government."

"I imagine that this general strike will also be against the Government of Spain, I don't think it will be a general strike in which the unions say they are going to protest against the opposition," Azcón has ironized, because "in that case they would have a very serious problem and that is that they are there to defend the workers, not the political parties."

The head of the regional Executive made these statements this Tuesday before the media at the Natural Interpretation Center of Aragón, in Pastriz, where he attended a release of milans.

"If the unions dedicate themselves to defending the political parties that are currently in the Government, I think they will have a very important credibility problem," he emphasized, insisting that general strikes, to date, "were made against the governments."

On this occasion, Jorge Azcón added, "I imagine it will be against the Socialist Party, but I think that is something they will have to clarify in the coming days."
