The Govern has pointed to the PSOE as the "only responsible" for the compensations to the "vulture funds" derived from the decree that "intended" to act as a 'social shield' and the extensions approved later.
This has been stated by the Minister of Housing, Territory and Mobility, José Luis Mateo, in response to a question from the socialist deputy Carles Bona, who had asked him whether the regional government "agrees to all the demands made by the vulture funds."
"The 2020 decree and its extensions have forced the communities to compensate all affected owners by a regulation that was intended to be a social shield. The decree did not distinguish between small owners, companies, or funds, so if any vulture fund has benefited from the aid, it is thanks to the Government," the minister replied.
Mateo also reproached the PSOE for having handed over the management of the housing of the public company Casa 47 to "large companies" and "then coming to tear their clothes with the vulture funds."
"They say one thing and then do the opposite. The PSOE is the only responsible for this disastrous regulation that has forced the autonomous communities to manage their populist policies. And they have the nerve to try to blame others," Mateo concluded.
