The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, reiterated this Wednesday that the presence of Moroccan warships in Spanish territorial waters on the same dates as the massive arrival of immigrants in Ceuta and the migration crisis in the autonomous city were independent events and without a link between them.

At the same time, he defended that this episode should not have been made public as it is a matter that affects national security and that, for that reason, it must be addressed "confidentially," as he explained in an interview on the program 'Al rojo vivo' of La Sexta, reported by Europa Press.

"There was no element, no fact that makes us think there was a relationship or that they were coordinated or that one was supporting the other," he indicated, admitting only a "temporal coincidence" between both events. "It had nothing to do with the massive entry," the minister insisted.

The Government maintains that the actions of the Moroccan ships were a "specific" event that was resolved quickly through dialogue with the authorities in Rabat, and that, by its nature, fits into the matters of "national security" that must be treated "confidentially." In his opinion, "issues that affect national security are not matters that should be made public," which justifies that the Executive did not declassify documentation on this matter, although it did reveal other internal communications from those days, including those held with members of the CNI.

In this same line, Bolaños emphasized that it was a "specific" episode that "was resolved very quickly" and "thanks to the dialogue between Spain and Morocco."
