The Junts candidate for Congress and spokesperson for the party in the Chamber in the past legislature, Míriam Nogueras, has highlighted the role of her formation, which, according to her, has proven to be capable of stopping the "two Spanish blocks," which she sees increasingly subjected to the most radical positions.

She stated this Saturday during her speech at the National Council of Junts held in La Garriga (Barcelona), where she was officially proclaimed as the head of the list for Barcelona. There she emphasized that the upcoming general elections will determine "what capacity Catalunya has to defend itself, to stop the extremes, to make Madrid work for Catalonia and not the other way around."

"Today the most revolutionary thing is to be the medium, to defend centrality, to defend rigor, and to defend well-done work," she stressed, insisting that the ballots will decide which political model will prevail in the coming decades.

Nogueras warned that this "centrality" requires character, "to withstand pressure and to withstand blackmail," in addition to being able to tell the truth.

She claimed that Junts is the "meeting point" for those who are fed up with the extremes, and she defended that citizens deserve a political class that fulfills its commitments, assumes responsibilities, and works with intensity.

"Bad decisions" made in Madrid

She argued that Catalonia cannot continue to bear the "very bad decisions" made in Madrid and that the Catalan middle class cannot assume all the costs.

In this line, she recalled Junts' rejection of the housing decrees promoted by the Government and defended that they chose to tell the truth against the "two irresponsible royal decrees presented in the Council of Ministers by the irresponsible Government of Pedro Sánchez."

Nogueras stated that, had those decrees been validated, the situation would have worsened: "Our work and our responsibility is to work so that every day when we get up our country is a little better and not a little worse," she pointed out.

Criticism of the Govern and Illa

Likewise, she attacked the Govern and the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, whom she accuses of being a "flower pot" of the PSOE and of being unable, she says, to defend the Catalan citizens.

"In the absence of the Government of the Generalitat, we, the people of Junts, have been here. We are the ones who have stopped the ruin of the Spanish left and the regression and the black-and-white country that the Spanish right defends," he stated.

Lists for Congress and the Senate

Junts has ratified by acclamation its candidacies for Congress and the Senate, with Nogueras as number one for Barcelona, Josep Maria Cruset heading the list for Tarragona, Marta Madrenas for Girona, and Isidre Gavin for Lleida.

For the Senate, the candidates chosen for Barcelona are Josep Maria Vila d'Abadal, Anna Cols, and Oriol Izquierdo; for Tarragona, Pep Andreu, Montserrat Vellvé, and Felip Monclús; for Girona, Joan Bagué, Júlia Barceló, and Pau Taberner; and for Lleida, Rosa Melines, Emili Gilabert, and Judith Guim.

Cruset has pointed out that the legislature has been especially difficult during these three years and has expressed confidence that Junts will achieve a remarkable result on November 29: "Those who want us in ostracism will be surprised on the night of November 29."

For his part, Gavin has assured that they are "excited" and emphasized that they will continue to defend the middle and working classes of Catalonia.

Madrenas has also claimed the work carried out by the party in the previous legislature: "You know that we had a bit of a hard time in Madrid, it has its price to defend Catalonia, but not defending it would have a very high price," she emphasized.
