The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has reiterated that for the moment he does not have evidence that supports that the "avalanche" of migrants recorded at the end of July in Ceuta was organized or driven by Morocco, although he has made it clear that, if those points were to be confirmed, the Executive would respond "with firmness".
In his intervention before the Plenary of Congress, convened to explain what happened in the autonomous city, Sánchez has emphasized again that "no one has provided evidence to the Government that allows concluding that the mass entry into Ceuta was designed or executed by the Moroccan authorities".
Despite this, he has highlighted that the investigation remains open to clarify why in the central hours of July 30 the Moroccan security forces allowed access to Ceuta, and has guaranteed that any conclusion obtained will be communicated to the public with "total transparency".
"If there were solid evidence, we would act accordingly, with total firmness, as the situation demands," the head of the Executive has reiterated, reminding that his Government has already shown the Spaniards that "it is not afraid to confront other foreign powers when the situation demands it".
