The general secretary of the PSE-EE of Álava and current counselor of Tourism, Commerce, and Consumption of the Basque Government, Javier Hurtado, has been proposed as the head of the list for the Congress of Deputies by the Alavese socialists for the upcoming general elections on November 29, although it will be the bases who must ultimately ratify his candidacy.
With this proposal, Hurtado will replace David Senderos at the head of the Alavese candidacy of the PSE-EE in said elections and, if elected as a deputy, will be obliged to leave his position in the Basque Executive.
Hurtado has a degree in Law and in Political Science and Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and, before joining the Basque Government, held the position of provincial deputy of Road Infrastructures and Mobility of Álava between 2019 and 2020.
