Just Eat has strengthened its leadership in Spain with the appointment of Gonzalo Villalba as the new financial director of its delivery platform in the country, the company has communicated.
Villalba takes on the responsibility of the highest financial officer in the Spanish market after his four-year stint at the headquarters of Just Eat Takeaway.com in Amsterdam, where he served as Senior Manager Finance Business Partner Corporate Functions and Delivery Finance Business Partner.
In this new phase, he will lead the entire financial area of Just Eat in Spain, with the aim of driving the expansion strategy and value generation at a key moment for the company, which, in addition to advancing in new lines of business, has come under the control of the global technology investor Prosus, whose goal is to consolidate it as a reference operator in Europe.
"I am very excited to take on this new challenge in the company by getting closer to my country, being able to contribute to the business the knowledge acquired during my time at the group's headquarters in Amsterdam. I face this new responsibility with great eagerness to contribute to the company's growth and support the team in this new phase," Villalba has indicated.
The newly appointed financial director has more than 15 years of experience in high-responsibility positions in the financial field, having developed his career in multinationals and startups from different sectors such as Healthy Poke, Talgo, and Tabacalera (Imperial Brands), among others.
