Larraintzar will be this Sunday, October 11, the stage of the Day of the Navarra Veal 2026, a festive event promoted by the IGP Navarra Veal with the support of INTIA and the Town Hall of Ultzama. After the first edition of 2025 in Garaioa, in the Aezkoa Valley, the event moves this year to this locality with a program that combines the promotion of local products and the primary sector with proposals aimed at all audiences.
On this occasion, the celebration emphasizes "the present and future of the sector, the succession, and especially the role of women who are part of the value chain of the Navarra Veal."
The central moment of the day, set for 1:30 PM, will be a recognition of four women who symbolize different links in that chain: the livestock farmer, the marketing manager, the butcher, and the consumer.
According to the organizers, this tribute seeks to emphasize "a reality that often remains in the background: behind every product that reaches the table, there exists a sum of people, knowledge, trades, and decisions that make its continuity possible."
Among the distinguished women is Carmen Arrese, a livestock farmer, who represents "the origin of the chain and the daily work of caring for and raising the animals"; Helena Gorospe, linked to marketing and management, as a symbol of "the structures that connect production with the market"; and Idoia Irure, from Carnicería Irure, who "embodies local commerce, product knowledge, and the direct relationship with the consumer."
The fourth honoree will embody those who, from home, "choose the product and close the journey between the field and the table."
The tribute does not seek to highlight individual trajectories in isolation but "to show how each of these women is part of the same journey: caring, connecting, knowing, and choosing."
Festive program around the Navarra Veal
The activities will kick off early in the morning, and one of the main attractions will be the traditional roast of Navarra Veal, which will conclude with a popular tasting starting at 2:00 PM.
Throughout the day, there will be a cattle show and exhibition, enjoy a rural sports demonstration, and various entertainment proposals spread throughout the day.
The programming will extend into the afternoon with musical performances and a concert by Chuchín Ibáñez and los Charros, scheduled from 5:00 PM, which will provide the festive touch to the celebration.
