The Agriculture Councillor of the Government of the Generalitat, Òscar Ordeig, toured this Monday at the Gastronomic Forum Barcelona 2026 the stands of companies with great weight in the sector, among them Transgourmet, Càrnia or BonÀrea, as well as proximity producers such as Badia Vinagres, from Pla d'Urgell (Lleida), or Artesania Dolça, from Alt Empordà (Girona).
During his visit, Ordeig also showed interest in the spaces of different business organizations, such as the Gremi de Bacallaners i Bacallaneres de Catalunya or the Organització de Productors Pesquers de Palamós (Girona).
The 2026 edition of the forum takes place at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona from November 2 to 4 and is promoted by Fira de Barcelona together with Alimentaria Exhibitions, according to what the trade fair institution detailed in a statement.
More than 450 exhibiting companies
In this edition, more than 450 companies are participating, showing their products and solutions, which represents an increase of 12% compared to 2025. The offer is led by gastronomic products, which represent 73% of the total, followed by equipment for hospitality (17%), professional tableware (6%) and technological solutions (5%).
The Gastronomic Forum also brings together the participation of various autonomous communities, such as Galicia, Castilla y León, Aragón and Andalucía, which come with a broad representation of their agri-food fabric.
These territorial presences allow "to discover a wide selection of products linked to the territory", which range from meats, cured meats, cheeses, preserves and seafood products to wines, oils, truffle, saffron, sweets and other gastronomic specialties.
The director of the salon, Josep Alcaraz, has emphasized that, one more year, the forum will bring together "the professionals who are defining the present and future of gastronomy", and has stressed that its objective is to consolidate itself as an environment where companies can connect with knowledge and product.
International reference chefs
The show also counts on the presence of some of the most influential cooks on the international scene, such as Oriol Castro, from the restaurant Disfrutar, Paco Pérez, from Miramar, and Jordi Cruz, from ABaC.
The 2026 edition focuses on several trends that are "redefining" the gastronomic experience, among them the greater prominence of table service and the expansion of gastronomic bars as spaces for direct interaction between cooks and diners.
The program is completed with the presentation of various professional recognitions, among which the Cuiner 2026 Gastronomic Forum Barcelona Award stands out, in which the candidates will prepare their creations live in order to compete for the prize.
