The Parliament of the Canary Islands has opened to the public this Thursday the photographic exhibition "Cosmos," by the artist Esperanza Pons Perna (Espe Pons), a proposal that focuses on the abduction of minors in the archipelago and helps to preserve the memory of the victims.
The exhibition covers this phenomenon from 1936 until well into the 1990s, exploring its consequences over several generations.
At the official opening, the Deputy Minister of Justice and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands, Cesáreo Rodríguez Santos; the president of the Collective Without Identity, Jorge Rodríguez; and the creator of the work, Esperanza Pons Perna, spoke.
According to a note from the regional Chamber, this proposal is part of the memory and awareness actions included in the Canary Islands legislation on stolen minors and aims to bring this issue closer to society.
Organized by the Presidency Department of the Government of the Canary Islands, the exhibition can be visited at the Parliament headquarters until September 19.
