The autonomous secretary of the PSOE and spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Carlos Martínez, has stated that the call for a general strike channels "a social outcry" regarding the housing situation in Spain. At the same time, he lamented that rights "never challenge the PP, and even less Mañueco," as he emphasized.

"They do not feel addressed by anything at all," Carlos Martínez reproached the members of the Junta de Castilla y León, which he perceives as "absolutely isolated" in the face of the real problems of the citizens.

In this line, he pointed out that the general strike responds to the attempt of the calling trade union organizations to "channel" the social tension and the demands expressed in the streets "at an absolutely crucial moment" for the country, a context that he has expressly dissociated from the electoral calendar.

"Society is rising up, it is standing up to claim a constitutional right that for too long and due to the lack of political will has once again become a market commodity, a reason for speculation," the socialist leader has stated.

"Therefore --he concluded-- the general strike is the perception of an outcry and the treatment of a social outcry and the claim of rights, which is what always corresponds to the unions, but rights never challenge the Popular Party and much less Mañueco."
