The PSOE prosecutor for Salamanca and mayor of Carrascal de Barregas, Noelia Merino, alerted this Tuesday to the counselor of Mobility, Cristina Sancridrián, that a good part of the buses that provide service in Salamanca and its surroundings have already exceeded one million kilometers on their counters.

During her intervention, Merino reproached the counselor for boasting about modernization and for "filling her mouth" when talking about the BUSCyL system "while the neighbors of the Salamanca surroundings continue to use buses with extremely high mileage and constant breakdowns," also reminding that in certain cases some of these vehicles have even caught fire.

The socialist representative also reproached the Junta for turning a deaf ear to the requests made by the mayors of the consulted municipalities, who demanded changes in frequencies, fleet renewal, immediate replacement of broken vehicles, reinforcements in weekend services, and even the implementation of some night service. "They never responded," Merino insisted, criticizing that the counselor limits herself to accusing the socialists of "making noise" with BUSCyL, whose "success" she defended, although she admitted that "specific adjustments" can be debated.

For her part, the counselor of Mobility replied to the socialist criticisms emphasizing that "it is curious that they tell us that the concessions are expired, as the state ones are also expired," referring to the situation of the transport contracts, thus trying to downplay the complaints about the regional management of the service.
