The president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, expressed this Wednesday his doubts about the call for a general strike set for 48 hours before the start of the electoral campaign on November 29, asking "who is this general strike against" and recalling that "the general strike is made against governments."

The Murcian leader made these statements during his visit to the Fruit Attraction fair, where the media questioned him about the announcement of the strike.

"There is a date for the general strike, just 48 hours before the electoral campaign starts. Something unheard of," he indicated, before pointing out that "two questions come to mind for all of us." "The first, who is this general strike against?" he noted.

In this line, he maintained that it is "a general strike against Pedro Sánchez, against the one who has been governing Spain for eight years and has had all housing policies in his hands."

"And why now?" López Miras wondered, who described it as "surprising" and "unheard of" that a strike is scheduled "just 48 hours before the electoral campaign starts."

When asked whether this call could affect the development of the campaign, he assured that "it is going to affect" and added that, in his opinion, the strike "is called to influence the electoral campaign." "The unions have to take off their masks," he stated, warning that "when coherence is lost, credibility is lost."

"They are going to have to give many explanations because, as I say, the moment of truth is coming, November 29 is going to be the moment of truth and here everyone has to take off their mask," he stated.

ABOUT HOUSING

On another note, when questioned about the housing decree and its possible approval by the Permanent Deputation, López Miras assured that what the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, intends to do is "in the purest style of sanchismo, trickery, and lies."

"Sánchez is a liar," he affirmed, before referring to various commitments he attributes to the head of the central Executive. He recalled that Sánchez arrived at La Moncloa saying that "he was not going to pardon the Catalan separatists" and that "the first thing he did was pardons," and added that he also stated "that with Bildu no" and, however, "Bildu presented the housing law of the Government of Spain."

López Miras has maintained that "Sánchez's Government is based on lies, on trickery, on deception" and has pointed out that with the housing decrees he intends to "do the same, be a trickster and deceive."

In his view, the central Executive seeks to "sneak in through the back door two decrees that the Congress of Deputies has already said it did not agree with."

"The best allegation, the best appeal against those two housing decrees will arrive on November 29," he concluded.
