Acciona Energía's shares registered a strong rebound of more than 5% this Friday in the first minutes of trading, after it became known that several investment funds of Arab and American origin would be analyzing the purchase of a majority stake in Acciona's renewable energy subsidiary.
Specifically, Acciona Energía's shares were advancing 5.19% around 9:40 a.m., to 23.90 euros, while Acciona's shares were adding 3.22%, to 275.4 euros, leading the gains on the Ibex on a day dominated by losses in the Madrid selective index.
This potential movement of foreign capital is part of the strategic review that the group is carrying out, which has officially launched a process to find a strategic partner for its subsidiary, as reported by "El Español" this Friday, which also indicates that Spanish energy companies such as Naturgy or Repsol could be interested in acquiring Acciona Energía's renewable assets.
Just a week ago, it also came to light that KKR and Brookfield would be preparing proposals for a possible acquisition of Acciona's subsidiary, which already strongly boosted the company's stock price.
Thus, both KKR and Brookfield would be among the investors sounded out by the Entrecanales family, which controls Acciona, to arrange a potential purchase of Acciona Energía, either of 100% of the capital or a relevant stake.
