AmRest, the restaurant group owner of brands such as La Tagliatella, Bacoa, or Sushi Shop, closed the first half of the year with net attributed losses of 13.792 million euros, which implies multiplying by six (514.6%) the 'red numbers' recorded in the same period of the previous year.
According to the accounts submitted this Thursday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the consolidated result including atypicals soared to -13.391 million euros, compared to the previous negative balance of 897,000 euros recorded twelve months earlier.
The group's revenue fell by 2.5%, reaching 1.231 million euros, while the gross operating result (Ebitda) decreased by 41.5%, standing at 27.785 million euros at the end of the semester.
In the geographical distribution of AmRest's sales, the Spanish market contributed 175.397 million euros, 0.8% less on a year-on-year basis. The European Union concentrated 1.055 million euros and the rest of the world added another 69.520 million euros, representing a decrease of 2.9% and a slight increase of 0.1%, respectively.
The average semi-annual workforce of the multinational stood at the end of June at 44,283 workers, 2.2% less than a year earlier. Of them, 24,680 were women and 19,603 were men, as detailed in the financial report.
Furthermore, the hospitality company reported that the members of its board of directors received until June a total remuneration of 444,000 euros, 6.7% more than in 2025. For its part, the management staff received a total of three million euros, representing a reduction of 5.9% compared to the previous year.
